Age Verification - How It Works
Starting May 6, 2026, we are introducing age verification for all orders. This is a legal requirement under the revised Tobacco Products Act (TabPG), effective January 1, 2027. We are launching several months early to ensure a smooth transition.
Why is this being introduced?
The revised Swiss Tobacco Products Act (TabPG) requires all online retailers to implement a technical age verification system by January 1, 2027. This ensures that tobacco and nicotine products are only sold to persons aged 18 and over. We have decided to implement this measure early to protect minors and comply with the law ahead of schedule.
What changes for you?
- Existing customers: You will be asked to verify your age once when you next place an order. After that, your account is permanently verified.
- New customers: Age verification takes place during the registration or checkout process.
- Everything else: Browsing, wishlists, and all other account features remain unchanged.
How does it work?
Our technology partner
We use PXL Vision AG, a Zurich-based company founded in 2018. 2018. Their solution is KJM-approved and certified, supports documents from over 165 countries, and is fully compliant with the Swiss DSG and EU GDPR.
Your data is safe
PXL Age only transmits a simple yes/no result. No ID data, photos, or personal information is stored or shared with us. The verification data is automatically deleted after processing.
